A leading Big 4 consultancy firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager in Space Operations Transformation. This role is crucial for delivering innovative consulting services to major Defence & Security clients, transforming their core operations for enhanced efficiency and digital readiness.
Position Overview :
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team of industry specialists, leveraging deep sector and technical expertise to drive significant improvements in client programmes. Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of operating models, delivering process re-engineering, and improving operational performance. This role offers the opportunity for rapid career advancement and skill development in project and budget management, along with the creative development of client solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
• Solving complex client issues through analysis, recommendations, and the application of industry knowledge and technology.
• Collaborating with a range of stakeholders within the consultancy and client organizations.
• Ensuring the timely and quality delivery of work packages.
• Managing a small team of junior members (approximately 1-3).
• Identifying and escalating risks and issues appropriately.
• Contributing to business development and practice management activities.
• Participating in internal practice development, including proposition, methodology, and point of view development, and supporting knowledge capture and sharing.
Essential Qualifications :
• Proven experience in designing and delivering operating models, service design, and/or digital transformation solutions within the UK Public Sector.
• Previous client-facing role in a consulting firm.
• Understanding of major issues in the Defence & Security sector and interest in innovative governmental strategies.
• Familiarity with current business environment drivers: digital, automation, robotics, advanced analytics.
• Strong project management skills, including detailed project planning and adherence to time constraints.
• Passion for societal impact through logical problem-solving and innovative thinking.
• Capability to lead independent workstreams within a broader team project.
• Adaptability in ambiguous and rapidly changing circumstances.
• Ability to work collaboratively and foster an inclusive environment at all organizational levels.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships and achieve successful outcomes.
Desirable Qualifications :
• Established network within UK Space Command, DE&S, and UK Strategic Command.
• Experience advising clients on disruptive digital technologies.
