This ladies retailer is getting bigger and bigger and after a number of years trading they are now experiencing their most successful year yet!
As a Sourcing Assistant you will help bridge the gap between the product teams and suppliers. You'll have experience with managing product lifecycles, factories and supplier capabilities, so this is a brilliant opportunity if you've been in a product or buying focussed role and now fancy getting more into the detail around onboarding processes, handbooks, labelling, quality and execute sustainability goals.
The day to day:
As the Sourcing Assistant you will support the product teams on de-risking the supply base with exiting plans, whilst also supporting the onboarding of new suppliers. With the Sourcing Manager, Buyers and Merchandisers you will strategically review the current supplier list for all areas of the business and identify gaps or room for improvement!

• Manage the supplier lists for total business and at department/category level
• Support with the introduction of new suppliers to the business
• Have an understanding of freight terms i.e landed, fob and other inco terms
• Support and collaborate with the buying teams on any costing programmes that need to be reviewed
• Have a sound understanding of Countries Of Origin and where exactly different product types are sourcing from, including the understanding of lead times!
• Pro actively reach out to suppliers that could be good for the brand
• Research and engage with industry to explore new COO along with your Sourcing Manager
• Work closely to the Buying & Merchandising teams to monitor best sellers or newness
• Support suppliers with their capacity and critical path requirements of the brand
• Support the development of supplier manuals
• Internally engage with finance, logistics and merchandising to understand the impact or challenges with freight prices or deliveries
• Regular catch up with your product teams to understand if there are any issues or concerns with certain suppliers from sampling through to production

As the Sourcing Assistant you will want to protect the brand at all times from quality, design and sustainable legitimacy. Suppliers are this brands partners, so as the Sourcing Assistant you will feel passionate to nurture, guide & grow the supply base. You will naturally love fashion and be looking to use transferable skills from perhaps other creative product focussed roles to be able to hit the ground running with this Sourcing role.
