Solutions Architect

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Trading Systems Infrastructure team. We build and maintain trading infrastructure hyper-optimized for low-latency starting from the bare metal, on premise and in the cloud. Our trading strategies run worldwide 24/7.
We need a highly skilled Solutions Architect focusing on AWS for our dynamic team. This is a critical role for us to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions on our AWS Linux crypto trading platform.
Responsibilities:
Own, standardize, and implement the technical requirements of high frequency crypto trading systems in the AWS cloud based on the business needs for performance and reliability.
Integrate seamlessly with the existing systems on premise and in the cloud.
Use Python to develop automation scripts and tools to support this effort.
Use Terraform and Salt (we are committed to IaC) to ensure platform consistency and scalability.
Optimize bare metal performance, both on premise and in cloud environments.
Explore and apply network latency optimization techniques.
Enlist and support internal teams throughout the implementation process.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven deep experience as a Solutions Architect with a focus on AWS, in a high frequency trading environment or equivalent performance focused role.
Very strong in Linux system administration and system engineering.
Proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting tasks.
Strong experience with Terraform and Salt (or equivalent tooling) for convergent infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
Strong experience with managing hardware components
Strong AWS and on-premise application-side networking experience
Communication skills are key to be successful in this role
Pluses:
Proven experience with AWS internals
AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Strong knowledge of other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
Deep understanding of financial markets and trading systems.
