The Opportunity
Roke provides technology innovation and consultancy to a variety of Defence clients and are seeking Solution Architects who are capable of helping our clients solve their toughest problems.
As well as demonstrable domain knowledge, you'll need a solid understanding of Commercial and Delivery activities on major defence programmes such that technical development can proceed in harmony with wider business activity.
Roke has a hybrid working policy as does our client base. Collaborative activities are likely to take place both on Roke premises and on our client sites based in Bristol, Andover and surrounding areas.
This is a customer-facing role; therefore, we are looking for individuals who have the appropriate technical knowledge and who are able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and act as a trusted advisor to our clients.

Essential skills/experience
Understanding of the Deployed and Tactical Military Domains in areas such as ISTAR, Communications and Information Systems (CIS) and Cyber
Awareness of relevant technology domains including communication bearers, applications, application hosting infrastructure, AI/ML, networks, data, security and system management
Application of Architecture Frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, MODAF, Archimate) and use of Modelling Tools (e.g. EA, Archi, Rhapsody, BizzDesign or Windchill)
Experience in delivery of Solution Architectures within Mission Critical client environments
Ability to apply architectural methods to define and assess effective technology solutions to meet critical user needs
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to create influence
Ability to build constructive relationships with clients, including adapting to their culture and ways of working
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarise, write and deliver concise technical information and to apply appropriate data visualisation techniques
Proven track record in solution development, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers

Due to the nature of this position, candidates must already hold current SC Clearance or be willing and eligible to obtain this. To qualify, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years for SC and 10 years for DV.
