Software Technical Lead

Our client, a leading company in the Controls and Automation sector, is currently seeking a Software Technical Lead to join their team on a contract basis. As the Software Technical Lead, you will be responsible for providing overall technical and engineering leadership to the Software Team, supporting the Software Project Manager in all aspects of technical delivery and scope management. Main Responsibilities:Overall technical and engineering Software Team leadershipWorking closely with and supporting the Software Project Manager in all aspects of technical delivery and scope managementLead the technical and quality requirements for the Software TeamTechnical support during integrated system testing, CFAT and SATReview of documents created by the project teamEnsure project adherence to company quality processes and proceduresDetailed task and procurement list development and leadershipMonitoring progress of activities being progressed by the Software TeamIdentification of project opportunities and variationsSupport the Project Manager in identifying and managing risks and issuesSupport the Project Manager in the project delivery strategy development and planningIdentification of deviations from agreed functionality or scope and notify Project ManagerTraining planning and supportMentoring of EngineersProvide Health and Safety leadership by exampleExperience & Qualifications: Essential:Strong experience of system specification through design, development and testingIn depth knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC's and WinCC SCADA systemsExperience leading a team with a strong focus on programme adherenceA good appreciation of control panels, electrical installation and Instrumentation solutionsA Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Control Systems or relevant disciplineDesirable:Providing mentoring to new or developing engineersDCSDrivesPlant HistoriansMESIndustry 4.0IT/OT ConvergenceNetwork design and configurationCyber SecurityFunctional SafetyDatabase implementationEnergy Efficiency and OEEIndustrial Protocol Knowledge (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC etc)Bespoke code developmentTIA Portal PLC programmingIf you have significant experience in SCADA, PLC's, Electrical, Controls, Automation, and a strong leadership background, along with the desired qualifications and skills, then apply now for this exciting opportunity with our client.
