Software Engineer (SLAM)As a Software Engineer at Vaarst,you will developinnovative capabilities for ourSubSLAMX2 Camera system. Primarily using C++ and Python programming languages, employing high quality software engineering principles and practices, and exploiting computer vision techniques such as SLAM. You will also collaborate with the R&D team to matureactive research into carefully tested, production ready code.Within your team, you will design, develop and implement products. You will actively participate in quality assurancethrough peer reviews, continuous improvement and utilising continuous integration pipelines.You will alsohave the opportunity toparticipate infieldtrials to test and evaluate new functionality andsupport the deployment of software updatesto customers.Your experience in C++ and Python along with your familiarity with computer vision techniques such as SLAM, Visual Odometry, Structure from Motion and Claibration willhelp shapethe technology and processes we use to developSubSLAMX2’s embedded software, in addition to how it interacts with other components as part of an offshore surveying solution. Collaborating on technical discussions and decisions Contributing towards the complete software development process from conception to deployment Maintaining and upgrading the software following deployment Enhancing the end-to-end life cycle of software development Modifying and testing changes to previously developed programs Breaking down requirements and building appropriate solutions Building knowledge in the company; share yours and absorb others’ You Will Also... You don’t have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role): Proficiency in developing production-level, modern C++ and Python. Familiarity with Computer Vision Techniques such as SLAM, Visual Odometry, Structure from Motion, and Calibration algorithms. Prior experience with ROS (Robot Operating System). Competency in Linux/Ubuntu environments. Grow together with Vaarst, you may have some knowledge of the following, if you don't these are areas you'll develop in.
Developing and deploying Robotic Autonomous Systems. Working with ARM and embedded development Working with hardware devices using serial, I2C, etc. Working with 3D and Video data, including mesh and point clouds.
