Software Engineer Manager - Aerospace & Defence

Are you ready to guide and lead a dynamic software development team in Wiltshire?You'll have the opportunity to manage software resources, make key architectural decisions, and ensure project success at our client site in Corsham.You'll drive architectural decisions through thoughtful trade-off analysis, ensuring the efficiency and success of software projects.You'll efficiently manage software development resources, overseeing a team of developers and testers to deliver high-quality solutions.You'll actively participate in the full software engineering lifecycle, providing mentorship and support for the team's growth.This position is an onsite role in Corsham, with options for condensed hours for a 4-day work week.Responsibilities:You'll drive architectural decisions through thoughtful trade-off analysis.Efficiently manage software development resources.Lead and oversee a team of developers and testers.Actively participate in code and specification reviews.Skills/Must have:Comprehensive experience in the software engineering lifecycle.Expertise in software UI design tools.Proficient in C, C++, C#, Java, Python.Familiarity with configuration control and defect management tools.Strong proficiency in PL/SQL and SQL databases.Certified practitioner scrum master.Hands-on experience with bug/workload tracking systems.Competence in Solution/Software Architecture and UML.Nice to Haves:Familiarity with MS Visual Studio 2015 or later.Exposure to MS SQL Server 2012 or later.Familiarity with Enterprise Architect 9 or later.Experience with Ranorex 7.1 or later.Familiarity with Git.Benefits:Engage in enterprise software projects.Exposure to diverse languages and tools.Leadership and mentorship opportunities.Salary/Day Rate:£650 - £750 per day Outside IR35.Location:Onsite in Corsham, 5 days a week, or condensed hours for a 4-day work week.Duration:6 Months.
