Our UK Ministry of Defence partner seeks a skilled Software Engineer, C/C++, and Java to develop innovative solutions using various software technologies. You'll work in the Mission Planning and Control Software Department to create desktop solutions for weapon system planning.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating MBDA products into third-party planning applications. You will also work on diagnostic and maintenance tools, as well as creating custom software components for launchers.

What we're looking for:

  • Possess the expertise required to design, develop, and demonstrate complex software products with excellent proficiency.
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical issues with stakeholders from diverse skill areas.
  • Experience operating as part of a collaborative Agile team.
  • Knowledge and experience in software development practices and processes.
  • Possess familiarity with a range of CI/CD/DevOps toolsets, including Jira, GitHub, and Jenkins.
  • Mandatory to know either C++ or Core Java. It is desirable to have knowledge of both.
  • Desirable knowledge includes Java FX, QT, MISRA and Google Test.

What you'll get to do as a Software Engineer C/C++ and Java:

The ideal candidate will collaborate with the project team to design, develop, and test a launcher sub-system. The candidate must have the ability to take ownership of features and perform a comprehensive range of engineering activities in accordance with the company's established guidelines and standards. The role includes conducting system integration activities on a virtual test environment and possibly on representative and feasible hardware. Based on the experience and skills of the engineer, the job may require participation in the entire development lifecycle, ranging from the architectural specification of the software product to testing and verification. Additionally, the role will involve assisting in the production of project documentation.
