Job Title: Sociology Teacher (Full-time)

Pay Rate: £136 - £274 per day PAYE (salary dependent on experience, training, and qualification)

Location: Southwark

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Sociology Teacher (KS5) to join a dynamic team at a lovely, Ofsted rated "Good", mixed-sex secondary school and sixth form, located in the vibrant community of Southwark, the school is renowned for providing a highly personalised curriculum that caters to the diverse needs of all our students. With a commitment to collaboration and drawing on expertise from various professional communities in education, health, and care, the school strives to create an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

As a Sociology Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our exceptional students. We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who possesses a genuine passion for working with young people with diverse needs. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of inclusive teaching practices and be skilled in tailoring instructional strategies to suit individual learning styles.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the wider school community, including parents, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning abilities and styles.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and implementing individualized interventions where necessary.
  • Work closely with external professionals to access additional support and resources for students with special needs.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants in your class and the wider group.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience working with students with diverse needs, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum and experience in adapting it to meet individual learning requirements.
