Main Duties:
Supervising foster carersSupporting Foster Carers with Children on in placementReviewing foster placementsLinking and matching children to foster carersParticipating in an office based duty systemParticipating in Looked after Children reviews and the decision-making processParticipating in foster carer support groupsWorking in partnership with other professionals i.e. education and health professionalsAddressing and investigating allegations and complaints against foster carers and making recommendations to foster carersLiaising with the Team Manager and LADO for advice and supportSupporting Foster Placements towards transition and staying put of older childrenCarrying out Form F assessments (Check the candidate is Form F trained)Recruiting foster carersAttending core group, strategy meetings and case conferencesWorking in partnership with the local authority’s legal teamsJoint working with children Social Workers on Form C AssessmentsCarrying out initial discussions and initial visits with prospective foster carersEnsuring safeguarding and child protection legislation is being adhered tooPresenting Form F assessments to panelCarrying out Form Reg 24 Connected Person assessmentsCarrying out life story work with children
Requirements of the Social Worker:
Degree or equivalent in social workCurrent Social Work England registrationSignificant frontline experience in Children’s Services
