Main Duties:
Carrying out Core Assessments, pre-birth assessments, risk assessmentsCarrying out Section 47 Child protection investigationsWriting Statements for courtCompleting Section 7 and 37 reports for courtRepresenting the authority in court to give evidenceCarrying out home visits for monitoring purposes and to safeguard childrenKeeping up to date case recordingsConvening and chairing core group meetingsLiaising with other professionalsCarrying out joint investigations and interviews with the policeInitiating and seeing through care proceedingsImplementing and reviewing Care PlansSupervising contactWriting case conference reportsAttending case conferences and strategy meetingsCompleting Child in Need plans
Requirements of the Social Worker:
Degree or equivalent in social workCurrent Social Work England registrationSignificant frontline experience in Children’s Services
