Your new role Social Media Video Editor The Social Media Video Editor is responsible for creating compelling and impactful video content for National Highways' social media channels. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the organisation's online presence, driving user engagement, and supporting the overall campaigns strategy for social media content. You will help ensure best practice and accessibility guidelines are followed, complying with our visual identity, while seeking opportunities to innovate, and embed insights in the approach to develop content that effectively addresses key issues. What you’ll be leading on
Edit and produce high-quality video content for National Highways' social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, helping to ensure that all communications are aligned to the National Highways Communications Strategy and cross-cutting campaigns. Enhance video content with visual effects, motion graphics, sound, and other elements to create visually compelling and captivating social media videos. Edit raw footage and assemble it into engaging videos using industry-standard video editing software including Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Premiere, After Effects) Ensure all videos are optimised for social media platforms, considering aspect ratios, file sizes, and technical specifications for seamless integration and optimal performance. Stay updated on emerging video editing trends, techniques, and tools to deliver cutting-edge and innovative social media videos. Coordinate with stakeholders, including videographers, photographers, graphic designers, and animators, to ensure content meets quality assurance standards. Monitor and analyse the performance of video content, using insights to refine future videos and improve engagement metrics.
To be successful you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in film production, video editing, or a related field. Relevant certifications or a strong portfolio of video editing work are highly desirable. Proven experience in video editing using software, such as Adobe Premiere, producing engaging video content for social media platforms. Strong understanding of video editing techniques, including pacing, storytelling, colour grading, audio synchronisation with the ability to transform raw footage into a compelling narrative. Knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, with a focus on optimising videos for maximum impact and aligning with brand guidelines, with experience in a creative or digital marketing team. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple video projects with varying timelines. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and delivering results on time. Passion for creativity and innovation, with a drive to stay updated on emerging video editing trends and techniques.
