Smoking and Tobacco Control Programme Officer Full Time, Fixed Term for 2 years.
We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Partnerships and Programmes Officer for Tobacco Control to join the Improving Health team within the Communities and Public Health Division at Bristol City Council
You will have a passion for improving the health of our population with a focus on reducing the inequalities created by nicotine addiction. They will be a creative thinker and strong communicator, with good project management skills. They will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team, in a fast-paced political environment. You should be comfortable liaising and collaborating with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
Some knowledge of Tobacco Control interventions and work programmes is advantageous to the role but is not essential. Experience working within the field of public health is desirable.
This role is designed to work closely and collaboratively with two part time Senior Public Health Specialists in Tobacco Control, who report directly to the Consultant in Public Health. This post will be managed by one of the Senior Public Health Specialists.
Working within this team you will be required to ensure services and interventions are based on an understanding of needs, that they address health inequalities, and are based on evidence of effectiveness. You will also have a role in monitoring the performance of our providers and supporting the wider system to engage in smoking cessation and tobacco control activities and interventions.
You will work with colleagues and partners locally and across the Integrated Care System to address nicotine addiction, including local interventions and the new Government Stopping the Start agenda.
