Job Description Administration and Legal Services, Finance and Corporate Resources seeks to recruit a self-motivated individual, with extensive committee experience and strong organisational skills, to provide a comprehensive committee administration service to support the Council’s decision-making process within Council Offices, Almada Street, Hamilton.
You will undertake a wide range of duties in accordance with statutory and predetermined procedures, often working with sensitive information and adhering to tight deadlines and agreed performance targets. You will be involved in dealing with, and providing advice to, elected members, senior officers, both internal and external, as well as other stakeholders, therefore, it is essential that you possess excellent communication skills and a commitment to the principles of customer care.
Given the level of responsibility attached to this post, you will be required to work using your own initiative. It is essential that you work in a highly professional manner, exercising confidentiality and discretion at all times and have the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities.
Ideally, you should have experience in all aspects of clerking formal committees/boards and knowledge of associated governance arrangements. You must be able to demonstrate excellent written, oral and IT skills. You will also be required to facilitate hybrid meetings (in person and online) which are livestreamed and available for the public to view.
