An experienced Site Manager is sought for a primary school north east of Birmingham – part of a West Midlands based multi-academy trust.



This is a key position overseeing site management and co-ordinating maintenance and capital works programmes. Reporting to the Head Teacher and the Central Operations Manager, varied duties include:




  • Overseeing all site management and supervision of one part time Site Assistant

  • Liaising with all relevant stakeholders to co-ordinate maintenance and capital works within the school in line with agreed plans.

  • Organise and carry out various maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises is satisfactory.

  • Providing line management and training of the cleaning team deployed at the schools.

  • Ensuring all hard areas, grassed areas, beds, borders and grounds are free from litter, dirt and rubbish.

  • Responsibility for the safety and security of school buildings, including the operation of CCTV systems.

  • Supervising facilities letting and community use to ensure protection of school property.

  • Advising on matters relating to the control of building costs and resources, proactively seeking to reduce waste and contribute to planning, development and organisation of systems/procedures/policies.

  • Conducting risk assessments and COSHH procedures.



The Site Manager will hold or is working towards a suitable relevant qualification, with experience of site management. You will have managed capital projects/contractors, experience of supervising staff, and knowledge of requirements within Health and Safety legislation, including Fire Safety, COSH, Manual Handling, Asbestos Management and Legionella testing.



Practical skills in light DIY work will be essential. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of establishing effective working relationships and able to 'think on your feet'.

Hours of work 7.00am/7.30am - 3.30pm/3.45pm
