We currently have an opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Site Manager based in the West Midlands, supporting the Canal & River Trust contract for delivery of Grounds, Trees, and Vegetation Management. Reporting to the Contract Delivery Manager, you will ensure work is completed to the highest possible standards in terms of safety, environment, quality, customer service and profitability.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
Delivering Emergency Works as part of an on-call rota.
Delivering planned works, keeping track of progress and highlighting any concerns to your CDM.
Organise directly employed and field team staff to deliver the programme on time, and to the highest standard.
Pricing of both reactive and planned works, using the schedule of rates and ensuring they are delivered within the agreed margin.

Who are we looking for?
Although full training will be provided for the right candidate, the following would be extremely beneficial:
Experience at a team leader level within the grounds maintenance industry
Excellent leadership and negotiation skills
Persistence and determination
Attention to detail
Knowledge of project management software such as Microsoft Project
Ability to prioritise tasks
Skills to manage costs, risks, and contingencies
Ability to work and make decisions under pressure
We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with tree knowledge or previous experience working on canals or waterways.
