They are looking to appoint an experienced frrelance Site Manager after a number of successful contract awards. This success has led to an increase in turnover and this Division has the aim to continue with their growth over the coming years. They have developed an excellent reputation for themselves in market sectors including: Commercial, Industrial, Distribution & Manufacturing. They are an entirely relationship driven business and pride themselves on the fact that over 70% of their workload is negotiated with existing clients that they have built relationships with.The Freelance Site Manager RoleThis role could be suitable for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager looking to progress to a more senior role, or an existing Site Manager looking for a more dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be expected to execute the designated projects to the agreed programme, in line with Health, Safety and Environmental standards expected by the client and company.The position will be reporting to an on site Project Manafer assisting in the managing of a build portal framed facility in the Boston area that has already commenced on site. The start date is the 20th May 2024 and runs until lthe end of 2024. It is expected that the successful applicant will be capable of running the project on a day to day basis with the assistance of the site based Project Manager.As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects with both construction and fit out elements from inception to completion, generally valued between £2million to £15million.Responsibilities include:Managing the project on siteManaging the site teamManaging all Health and SafetyWorking closely with all sub-contractors to ensure projects run on timeLiaising on all levels to ensure effective communication is always maintainedChecking and registering materials and plant deliveries for compliance quality and quantityChecking and recording attendance and timekeeping of subcontractors and operativesLiaising with clients and reporting progress, quality, environmental and health and safety mattersAttending internal and site meetings maintaining a professional mannerCalling off materials, ordering sundry items and maintaining running totals recordsSupervising the site team, subcontract trades, general labour to ensure the highest quality, health and safety are met, and compliance to their order requirementsSet up and input to subcontractor meetings be it pre-start or progress meetingCarry out formal safety inspections ensuring construction and site safety is of the highest standardMaintaining quality control proceduresUtilising and maintaining all company systems, procedures, forms and templates and policiesMotivating yourself and the workforceProblem solvingAssisting with both internal and external auditsAssisting the Contracts Manager as required Completion of site health and safety, quality and environmental inspections and all the job related paperworkRead, understand, convey and build to only approved drawings and specificationsCoordinate delivery/pick up of materials as requiredOrder and manage hired in equipment on a daily basisRecord keeping for Change Control tracking, assessment and monitoringWorking to agreed programmesThe ideal candidate will have previously managed sites within the construction and refurbishment sectors, experience of constructing commercial, industrial, distribution and manufacturing schemes is beneficial. Requirements:Extensive experience of the construction industry specifically new build projects with portal frames and interior fit outKnowledge of construction techniques, specifications and detailsPrevious people management experienceGood communication skills and able to deal with clients, subcontractors and the internal teamProblem solving skills and accountability for decisions madeCommercial awarenessAbility to motivate themselves and othersTeam working skills, with the ability to effectively delegateWell organized and thorough, with good timekeeping skills Able to work on own initiativeBe able to run a safe site ensuring the highest quality (with support from a site based Project Manager)Be Computer literate (excel, word, outlook)Have a good understanding of current Building Regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.As the Site Manager, you will be required to be a self-motivated individual who is autonomous in your role, whilst being able to drive subcontractors.It is essential that you hold SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, Asbestos Awareness and First Aid certificates.
