HRGO are currently recruiting for a Site Maintenance Assistant. In this role, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation and cleanliness of the site. Your duties will vary on a daily, weekly, and ad hoc basis, and may include but are not limited to:

Daily Duties:

  • Check all softener salt bins, including aerosol lines, pure water plants, boiler room, and toilet water softener. Ensure they are topped up and running properly.

  • Conduct a morning site walk around to check the security of the site and perform litter picking.

  • Conduct an afternoon site walk around for litter picking.

  • Check all bunds for any leaks and empty them as required.

  • Check the security for engineering parcels.

  • Assist Facilities with planned maintenance tasks.

Weekly Duties:

  • Empty all Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) units on the site, aerosol lines, mixing hall main and other brands.

  • Check the lagoon and pump out when necessary.

  • Sweep areas that are not covered by cleaning services.

  • Tidy the skip area and load skips.

  • Inspect the river of fire from the tank farm to the lagoon for any blockages.

Ad hoc Duties:

  • Replace empty bottles with full ones on water dispensers for all departments and the canteen.

  • Salt pedestrian areas during inclement cold weather.

  • Position barriers in areas where work is being done and ensure their proper maintenance.

  • Unblock all gutter drain outlet areas.

  • Clean dirt and bird excrement from Asafe barriers and other affected areas.

  • Assist other departments with lifting and shifting tasks.

  • Perform extra cleaning of the site for VP visits.

  • Clean the surfaces of all external air conditioning units.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform manual labour tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail to identify maintenance needs and ensure cleanliness.

  • Good organisational skills to prioritise tasks efficiently.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to handle ad hoc duties as they arise.

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and cleaning procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with other team members and departments.
