Job Description
A leading main contractor that specialises in a wide variety of new build projects is actively recruiting for a Site Engineer position, focusing on a residential development project in London.
Your role will involve overseeing the management of quality, ensuring accurate as-builts, and efficiently handling material orders for the site. You will play a major part in the project, you'll be instrumental in managing the setting out works of the subcontractor.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting out during various stages of the build process: foundations, earthworks, façade, and internal layouts
Checking subcontractors setting out works as required
Managing all aspects of the works from substructure to superstructure and onto landscaping
Working closely with subcontractors which involves keeping a daily diary of levels of work for each subcontractor
Producing QA inspections and reports
Going to weekly management meetings and liaising with other members of staff such as Site Clerks, Quantity Surveyors, and Health Safety Officers
Instrument usage: Able to use EDM, Rotating laser level etc. as this will be required for as built surveys, QA, snagging etc.
Efficient with construction management software programs i.e. Procore. We use tablets on site to record QA so will need to be able to use tablets/android
IT efficient, use of software programs, Microsoft programs, emails etc required.
Good knowledge of design, drawings, details, specifications etc.
Good knowledge on substructure, drainage, utilities etc.
Attend daily and weekly progress meetings, coming prepared on the status of the works, any issues delaying works etc.
Must have:
Minimum 2-3 years experience working as Site Engineer
Engineering Degree/Diploma or related degree
Confident using Microsoft Office programs
Working knowledge of equipment and systems e.g. AutoCAD
