Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Director to oversee our operations at our facility. Walkers Chocolates manufactures chocolate products which are sold to the major UK supermarkets and exported worldwide.
As Site Director you will play a crucial role in managing and supervising daily activities to ensure the smooth functioning of the site and oversee Factory Production & Operations, Engineering, Technical and QA, Supply Chain and Distribution (including Transport and Warehousing) and HR. You will lead and motivate the operations and supply chain team to ensure efficiencies within the full value chain to support sales
Responsibilities:
P&L Management for all areas of accountability.
Implement processes that add value and reduce costs within Operations.
Lead and control the development of operational processes.
Implement preventative and recovery measures within Engineering and Technical.
Maintain a good technical knowledge of operations and the lifecycle of production.
Implement Continuous Improvement
Implement initiatives that focus on meeting growing business needs.
Provide Leadership to a growing team.
Build a strong collaborative culture within the team.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal departments, and be the ambassador for communication routines.
Verify that company policies, including safety and housekeeping, are enforced consistently.
Update and execute on strategy in alignment with the board requirements
This is a key role, with the successful candidate moving into the full Managing Director position after executing on the mid-term Operational requirements.
The successful candidate will be a ‘hands on” leader who understands the importance of strong operations and robust processes in building efficiencies within a manufacturing environment, articulating and leading these programs.
A confectionary background is essential, with demonstratable experience in delivering high value efficiencies to business operations and production environments. Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate:
Experience operating at a Director Level.
Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement processes.
Experience of implementing change and managing business transformation.
Experience of project planning, systems implementation, SAGE ERP and experience within APS Systems would be advantageous.
