Position Overview
We are currently seeking one exceptional, energetic, and organised Shipping and Logistics Executive to be part of our team. The candidate should have experience in imports & exports, with experience of managing customs requirements for international shipments. An understanding of procedures such as OPR IPR, temporary admissions, is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily activities within the department included but not limited to the below:
Packing and preparing orders (Wholesale, Retail, Web sales, E-Commerce, Production).
Building strong communication with other departments and managing expectations whilst prioritising more urgent requests.
Raising all shipping documents making sure to use correct commodity Codes, CPC codes & incoterms.
Preparing necessary additional customs documentation where required (COO /EUR1/Carnet).
Updating internal stock location & status information.
Track shipments and manage any arising customs issues or delays and dealing with them promptly.
Knowledge of special Customs relief systems such OPR & IPR and maintaining tracking systems.
Assisting with client and partner returns.
Maintaining weekly flow of stock recalls from internal locations and weekly distribution of new stock allocations.
Building a strong relationship with our freight agents & couriers, chasing quotes when needed & booking collections.
Keeping track of all imports and specifically agents requests for import instructions in order to ensure prompt delivery of parcels.
Planning ahead to ensure time-critical deliveries meet specific deadlines.
Assisting with planning of Exhibitions & Events.
Organising hand carries for special deliveries.
Helping to build improved internal systems in order to maximise client experience and reporting capabilities.
Keeping all electronic shipping files up to date and in good order.
Checking customs entries for errors and requesting amendments if required.
Keeping abreast of Customs/HMRC updates and any changes related to shipping requirements.
Assisting with checking & uploading of supplier invoices onto payment system for approval.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Maximum 1 year of experience. This is a junior role. Knowledge of MS Office, Excel interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with individuals and teams, both internal and external. Organised, efficient and self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude and the ability to be flexible whilst working within a small team environment.
