Henry Company (A Carlisle Company) is looking for a self-motivated, hard-working, and dependable Shipping Coordinator to be part of great teamwork environment at our busy Scarborough facility. Henry Company is a leader in Building Envelope Systems, managing the flow of water, vapor, air and energy from foundation to roof. Our quality products offer designers, contractors and building owners the right solutions for below grade, walls and roofs.
The primary function of the Shipping Coordinator is the safe and efficient completion of all inbound and outbound freight activities associated with an off-site storage warehouse. Standard hours of operation Monday- Friday 40 hours a week occasional overtime a business and operational needs dictate. No travel required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to Warehouse Supervisor
Provide direction to Material Handler(s) that will be assigned to assist with daily
Pull daily reports from Power BI on what’s available to ship, then print off pick/pack daily orders and issue them to shippers/receivers at the start of shift according to customer and company requirements.
Schedule all outbound/inbound shipments to meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate with carriers and customers regarding order pick-ups (Will calls, Dock Scheduler Tool, Customers Shipping Portal).
Inspect all material handling equipment prior to
Render out of service and report immediately: defective, damaged, or improperly working machines, equipment, tools, or devices.
Coordinate the unloading of inbound
Greet drivers upon arrival at building and assign unload door(s).
Unload trailers and put materials away in the
Stock and ship items per:
FIFO (first in, first out)
Standard Work Instruction
Prescribed direction
Capacity / Governmental / Insurance rules, requirements, or
Maintain accurate inventory counts for all materials stored in the
Follow Carlisle Shipping Manual
Other duties as required
Working Conditions:
Exposure to all weather conditions to include high heat, extreme colds, rain, snow, ice, and wind.
Potential for a drafty work
Chemical exposure – handling of pallets, cans, and boxes of adhesive, handling of raw material chemicals.
Pinch hazard from moving mechanical parts on forklift, truck doors,
Occasionally work in high places using a safety
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used:
Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor.
Safety toe shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor.
Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.
Requirements
Required knowledge includes but is not limited to:
Certified and competent to operate all department assigned material handling
Knowledge of safety practices required when operating a forklift, and while loading and unloading various types of transportation equipment.
Ability to report a safety incident and assist in the investigation if
Ability to prepare and submit a work
Knowledge of the manufacturing plants product
Required skills include but are not limited to:
Reading – Packing lists, bill of lading, inbound schedules, labels, product codes, tags,
Math – Add, subtract, multiply, divide to determine space and weight distribution for efficiency and utilization of bulk silo and truck loading, count and verify quantities when shipping and receiving,
Writing – Complete bill of lading, checklists, maintenance work order, and any department worksheets not mentioned.
Communications – Interact with Production, Lab team, Operations Supervisor and Participate in Safety, COS, and Campus / Plant / Department work groups.
Problem solving skills
Forklift operation
Computer skills: SAP, SFIS, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Vendor Web Based Programs and Tools.
Education and Experience:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Trained and certified to competently operate a forklift, handle items of various dimensions and weight, operation on ramps and inclines / declines.
