Shift Technician (Electrical Bias)



The Staffing Experts are currently seeking Shift Technicians for an exciting opportunity with an established manufacturer located near Disley. We are recruiting for the position of E&I Shift Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the manufacturing equipment. Role Overview:

As a Shift Technician with an Electrical Bias, your primary responsibility is to provide technical support to the mill, ensuring equipment reliability, product consistency, and maximizing asset capability in compliance with group policies. You will offer necessary electrical/mechanical engineering support to maintain continuous operation, implement maintenance procedures, troubleshoot, and repair equipment problems, and implement a condition-based maintenance program.
Main Responsibilities, Roles, and Expectations.
Safety, Environmental, and Quality:

Ensure compliance with pre-defined objectives aligned with mill annual targets.

Perform all equipment maintenance activities in compliance with environmental, safety rules, and group procedures.

Conduct risk assessments for all tasks and adhere to Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout Tagout (LOTO) systems diligently.



Maintenance:

Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on machinery and equipment.

Screen and act on work requests as required.

Ensure timely completion of Work Orders and Maintenance Requests.

Execute agreed Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks.
Production Efficiencies:

Work flexibly with operating teams to achieve production KPIs.

Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplined teams to meet factory targets.



Electrical Attributes:

Possess a recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship.

Have at least 5 years' experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment.

Experience in running small to medium improvement projects.

Broad experience with a wide range of instrumentation.

Familiarity with AC & DC variable speed drives, PLC logic, SCADA/DCS systems, pneumatic & hydraulic systems, and basic condition monitoring.



Mechanical Attributes:

Conduct basic mechanical tasks such as condition monitoring, replacing drive belts, and small gearbox replacements.

Receive support for larger or more complex mechanical tasks as needed.



Desirable Qualifications:

HNC, ONC or NVQ level 3 in Electrical Engineering.



Hours



2 days, 2 nights, 4 off x 7 then 18 days off
