Shift Manager

Job Overview: Working alongside our client, an established plastic injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Night shift Manager to join their team.

Remit:

• The successful Night shift Manager applicant will have proven supervisory experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, along with the ability to set injection moulding machines and troubleshoot process issues.


• The role of Night shift Manager will suit a hands-on people manager with the ability to optimize performance and machine utilization.

Role:

• As a Nightshift Manager you will be responsible for the effective management of the production team including Operators and Setters.


• Managing resources to optimise machine utilisation and production efficiency.


• Ensure that Production Operatives are adequately trained and able to work at an acceptable rate throughout the shift.


• Organise breaks in line with personal staff needs, terms of employment and machine utilisation.


• Report on production progress and amend plans as appropriate.


• Ensure that the factory and surrounding area is maintained in a clean and tidy manner.


• Ensure health & safety compliance across shift in keeping with H&S regulations.


• Ensure that site security is maintained at all times and especially at those times when you are the most senior member of staff on site.

Experience Requirements:

• Educated with good qualifications gained within an engineering, production or manufacturing discipline would be desirable


• Proven supervisory experience within manufacturing environment


• Ability to set injection moulding machines and troubleshoot process issues, with demonstrated hands on experience of tool changes, first & last off approvals & process start-ups.


• Injection moulding / plastics manufacturing experience an advantage


• Experience with lean manufacturing and CI techniques


• Good communication skills


• People management skills


• Problem solving skills


• Good level of numeracy and literacy skills
