Shift: Continental 3 Shift Pattern - 8-hour shifts rotating by weekly 6-2/2-10/10-6
Salary: £40k, plus a 20% shift allowance.

At GAP Plastics, we are seeking an electrical bias Shift Maintenance Technician to join our team in Blackburn. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of fenestration machinery, contribute to our growth plans, and provides a clear path for career progression.
As a key member of our team, we need a skilled and reliable technician to ensure the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment, minimise downtime, and conduct preventive maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, knowledge of electrical theory and safety procedures, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identify the root causes, and take appropriate corrective actions.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, control panels, circuits, and fixtures.
Inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and departments to address and resolve issues.
Complete work orders and documentation accurately and promptly.
Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Proven time served experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and equipment.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematic drawings (Ladder diagrams)
Implementation and installation of automated machinery
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
PLC Controls Experience - Must be able to fault-find
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
Physical stamina and working in confined spaces.
