MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Shift Engine Technician for a leader in the renewable energy sector.

Our client operates and maintains Landfill Gas Power Generation, Solar and Battery Storage assets, producing Renewable Power. This role will involve travelling to various Landfill Gas Power Generation sites across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Oxfordshire maintaining and servicing large gas engines on a shift basis.

Full training will be provided for candidates with a previous understanding of engines or generators. Armed Forces candidates with a marine, RAF or REME backgrounds will also be considered.

As a Shift Engine Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Travelling to various sites across the West of the UK, including South Wales, Gloucester, Bristol, and Oxfordshire
• Carrying out routine maintenance on large scale generators/engines which includes overhauls, servicing, tuning, and oil changes
• Assist in the unplanned maintenance/breakdowns of electrical and mechanical ancillary equipment
• Liaising with site management to deliver environmental and Health and Safety Compliance
• Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Practical experience problem solving breakdowns on generators or engines
• Happy to take training on board and upskill on various renewable assets
• A relevant level 2 or higher qualification in mechanical engineering, motor engineering or mechanics
• Ability to work morning, afternoon and evening shifts with the occasional on-call
• Full UK Driver’s License essential
