Manchester with regular UK travel, EnglandSHE Business Partner, WoodBased out of the Manchester, Droylsden office with regular travel within UK.Reports To: Wood Group Senior Operations Manager – hard lineLocation: Based out of the Manchester, Droylsden office with regular travel within UK. Job Purpose The scope of the role covers: The Safety, Health and Environmental compliance and development for all three Enva Wood sites: Manchester; Tilbury; Middlesbrough.Responsibility for:Owner and strategy leader for safety implementation and development. Summary of ResponsibilitiesEnforce all Health and Safety policy, procedures and performance on site.Ensure risk assessment and accident management systems are in place. Lead incident investigations providing an advisory support function to site management, first line managers and other colleagues.Ensure that risk and other assessments are reviewed for all activities with significant risks in association with the Department/Managers.Promote a healthy work environment and ensure the safety of all staff, contractors, installation teams and visitors.Ensure that staff are inducted, in association with the Department Manager and HR as per Corporate and Compliance Policy.Undertake regular toolbox talks and awareness sessions to ensure best practice and compliance are adhered to at all times.Ensure that all accidents are investigated, and that continuous improvement is implemented to prevent reoccurrence and standards are communicated with other Departments.To support HR activities in incident/accident investigations, disciplinary and grievance process where incidents, accidents or breaches of compliance have occurred.Advise and assist the Senior Managers and other persons involved in planning, organising, controlling, and maintaining the workplace and environment.Assist with the development, review and update, when necessary, of policy and procedures in consultation with Managers and Staff to comply with legal and best practice obligations.Ensure Managers and other staff are working towards achieving compliance and objectives, supporting where necessary. Assist with promoting achievement and performance throughout the organisation.Completion of inspections and audits. Monitor that recommendations and appropriate control measures are implemented within agreed timescales and completed in order to further develop product specifications and internal standards.Provide analysis and reports are issued to necessary Departments/Managers monthly on key safety activities such as Near Misses, LTI and RIDDOR Statistics. Ensure that regulatory and corporate compliance is adhered to, enforcing requirements across the site and Group companies where required.Maintain and update the systems for recording, reporting, and investigating injuries, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and safety issues. Provide statistical summaries to the Group SHEQ Manager and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences. Ensure document control and retention of all records within a secure environment.Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing improvements.Manage and chair relevant meetings to discuss necessary issues and continuous improvement within the local site area.Maintain effective communication with other seniors, Peers, direct reports, and other staff internal and external to the organisation.Assist with managing relationships with external bodies such as the EA, HSE, acting as a communication vehicle between the company and external party with issues relating to regulatory and corporate compliance and any issues which may arise.To provide cover where necessary for direct colleagues and other departments and sites within the Group Companies in the event of absence.The list above is not exhaustive, and the role holder may be expected to be responsible for other activities commensurate with skills and ability with training given.InteractionsEstablish and maintain positive relations and communication channels with the following key interfaces: Managing Director Enva Wood UKEnva Wood: Operations, Finance, IT, HR.
