Following our commitment to invest £20.5 billion in low carbon projects to 2027, we have significant growth plans and are well on our way to achieving our ambition to build a world that's more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come.Join us on our journey to net zero and help us power change.About the RoleBase Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options availableIn this key role within the SSE Group SHE team, you'll be responsible for the comprehensive auditing protocol focusing on Safety, Health, and Environment aspects across SSE and its supply chain. The role demands a meticulous approach to planning, delivering, and reporting of assurance activities aligned with the group's assurance plan. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring safe operational practices and minimising risks. As SHE Assurance Auditor, your main responsibilities will include:- Supporting the SHE Assurance team with delivery of the annual audit plan, ensuring efficiency across planning and delivery.- Ensuring the SHE Assurance team is trusted to deliver across SSE, building strong collaborative relationships with Business Units Assurance teams, Group Services Assurance functions and external bodies.- Leading internal and external audits aligned to the SHE audit plan, ensuring all elements of the audit planning, delivery and reporting are delivered to a consistently high, and professional standard.- Supporting the data capture and analysis across Level 3 and Level 2 audit findings, proactively influencing plans, aligned to key risks and trend areas. - Timely completion and distribution of accurate audit reports, aligned to the audit plan.What do I need?To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:- Demonstrable experience as SHE Lead Auditor to 45001 and 14001, in the energy sector or a high hazard industry e.g. construction, offshore, petrochemical/pharmaceutical industry.- Registered, or working towards, IRCA Lead Auditor or equivalent professional body.- Recognised SHE qualification in Health and Safety Management e.g., NEBOSH Diploma/Degree with continuing professional development.- Experience drafting clear, fact-based audit and assurance reports and supporting documentation.- Ability to work and deliver against challenging constraints, prioritising key deliverables.About our BusinessAt SSE, Safety is our number one value.
