Job title: SHE Advisor
Type: Contract 6 months -12 months rolling
Rate: Experience dependant
Location: primarily Sussex & Kent with occasional ad hoc support to Hampshire
We are seeking a SHE Advisor to join our SHEQ team for a joint venture project in the Southern Water region. Based across various locations (primarily Sussex & Kent with occasional ad hoc support to Hampshire), you will be responsible for daily health and safety duties and contribute to the management and development of the regional safety strategy.
Reporting directly to the Head of SHEQ, your responsibilities will include:
Providing support to the regional management teams to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
Assisting regional management teams in implementing HSE guidance and best practices.
Conducting systematic audits and inspections of construction sites, offices, and other workplaces to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and health and safety management systems.
Monitoring the resolution of health and safety issues.
Investigating accidents and incidents to identify root causes and learning points.
Assisting regional management teams and employees with risk assessments and control measures.
Aiding in the development and maintenance of safety-related documentation such as manuals, procedures, guidance notes, and forms.
Liaising with clients, HSE Inspectors, and external assessors.
About The Candidate:
Essential:
Extensive experience in health and safety practices, particularly in the Water Treatment/Construction industry.
Knowledge of current and upcoming HSE Directives and statutory health and safety laws in the UK.
Familiarity with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) and good construction practices (e.g., HSE guidance, approved codes of practice).
Experience with ISO 45001 or similar management systems.
Formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate).
CSCS card or affiliated scheme (SHEA Water).
