Sexual Health Nurse Training LeadBand 7Job overviewNottingham University Hospitals (NUH) Integrated Sexual Health Services (ISHS) sits within the Family Health Division. It has delivered integrated GUM, HIV, SRH and community sexual health services since 2011. The service covers a catchment of more than 700 000 people, and manages more than 50 000 attendances annually.Sexual health clinics are held daily from Monday to Saturday and include some evening sessions. Specialist sessions are conducted in complex contraception, complex LARC and complex GUM and sexual health provision in prisons around the region.The department provides clinics in over 20 health centre/college settings throughout the local community, and has an outreach team who work in various non-conventional health settings as well as promoting the service via social media etc.The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating and delivery of training in house and externally as part of the sexual health contract. They will also be working autonomously within clinics delivering contraception, including LARCs , diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted infections.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will lead on the provision of care for patients on the Sexual Health Pathway and equip clinicians with the competencies to deliver sexual health services.Plan and deliver formal and informal teaching to a range of health care professionals in line with service level agreement.Develop and deliver educational and training programmes as requested and as appropriate.Develop and contribute to clinical guidelines and protocols and lead the implementation process as required.Responsible for ensuring effective communication between the department, University, Practice Learning Team and other relevant educational providers.Working autonomously in the ISHS, assessing, diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted infections, providing contraception and fitting and removal of LARC'sWorking for our organisationWith over 20,000 staff, NUH is one of the biggest employers in the city with a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local population.
