We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer on behalf of our client, a highly reputable civil engineering contractor focusing predominately on renewable energy, road and infrastructure sectors.

Our client is going through a sustained period of growth and looking to expand their team with a Setting Out Engineer to be based in Wick in the North of Scotland.  The ideal candidate help ensure that the project is well managed and delivered on time.  It is essential that you have a demonstrable background working and delivering on civil engineering projects across various sectors particularly on substations, renewables, wind farms, and roads.  Due to the location of this role living away allowance and accommodation will be provided.

As the Setting Out Engineer, you will be responsible for:


  • Setting out and surveying the site
  • Implementing strategies as discussed with management
  • Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
  • Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site
  • Supporting the team, and any other site engineering duties as required.

Background/experience required:


  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer with a civil engineering contractor.
  • Previous experience setting-out for renewables and infrastructure projects
  • Appropriate civil engineering qualification - i.e HND/C or Degree
  • You should have a valid CSCS card.
