Job Role: Contract Service Technician
Location: Keighley
Shift: Days Regular and may be required additional hours TBC.
Salary: �19ph+ - Dependant on Experience.
Metalis is currently working with a prestigious manufacturing company who are based in Keighley, who specialise within rail, aerospace, automation and general engineering. The company are looking to hire a Service Technician, on a contractual basis within the company with long term prospects within.
Job Role:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on large CNC Machine Tools.
  • Perform basic testing on all machine systems.
  • Respond to breakdowns, carry out fault diagnosis, and carry out repairs in a safe and timely manner.
  • Provide technical support as part of the service team to assist customers and help minimise machine downtime.
  • Work closely with the customer and site personnel to build relationships and maintain good communication.
  • Plan for and maintain tools, equipment and supplies required to complete the necessary maintenance / repair tasks.
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities (e.g. on-site repair / servicing, run up testing).
  • Assist in documentation and reports such as post service reports, method statements and quoting.
  • Build-up good in-depth knowledge of different machine aspects to ensure confidence when diagnosing, repairing and testing.
  • Participate and support the company's commitment to health and safety excellence, complying with requirements and legislated obligations.
  • Participate, as required from time to time, in health and safety improvement activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Engineering Certificate or relevant qualification NVQ level 3
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive experience in using own initiative to identify mechanical faults and carry out repairs.
  • Proficient in the disassembly, assembly, and repair of machine tools and components.
  • Understanding of Hydraulics, Pneumatics and CNC Machine Operation
  • Proficient in equipment diagnosis and able to use specialised diagnostic tools and test equipment.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic)
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC and NC controls (Siemens Preferred).
  • Strong interest in equipment technology as well as mechanical ability.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team, with site personnel and customers, and promote excellent customer relationship at all times.
  • Demonstrate Strong PC skills across the Microsoft Office suite of products and general knowledge of, and comply with, the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislation.
