Age UK Thanet Ltd is an independent charitable Organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals who are 50 plus across the region. We are looking for a self-motivated, committed and professional individual to undertake the role of Services Manager.



This will involve being responsible for managing the operational services. Working with the CEO, Finance and HR Manager to oversee the management of staff, volunteers, the Co-ordinators of services at AUKT and all administrative functions. Ensure compliance is maintained, and support the CEO in identifying, co-ordinating and developing quality improvement initiatives across all areas of the organisation.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities




  • Assist the CEO in all aspects of management at all services venues.

  • Deputise for the CEO and represent Age UK Thanet Ltd by attending meetings and networking events.

  • Be aware of marketing and social media strategies to promote all services.

  • Support with Funding applications and driving income into the charity

  • Assist in the recruitment and induction of new staff, observing policies and procedures. Organise training for all staff/volunteers as required, ensuring supervision and appraisals take place in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate records for compliance, including Health & Safety across all service venues. This will require different formats and using both computer and manual systems.

  • Observe confidentiality throughout the service delivery.

  • Become competent in all areas of office management.

  • Produce data for the Accounts Department, as required.

  • Oversee contracts KPI’s and complete reports in a timely manner.

  • Collate service user feedback and make information available for analysis to be used in future planning and development of services.

  • Attend Disciplinary & Grievance and Adult Protection hearings, when required.

  • Communicate and liaise with all office personnel, Social Services, Voluntary Organisations, service users and their families and Community Support Groups.

  • Support with the planning and organisation of fundraising events.

  • Assist with the implementation of weekend and bank holiday service provision.

  • Ensure that Data Protection and any specific contractual requirements are always adhered to.

  • Monitor and review administrative processes.

  • Provide cover for all services in the Co-ordinator’s absence.

  • Be able to drive the companies’ vehicles in the event of covering services.

  • Be prepared to be on an ‘on call’ rota including over weekends and Bank Holidays.
