Territory: UK Wide (Circa 75% office based/25% field based)Your location: Living in a commutable distance to the client’s headquarters in Cheshire, EnglandMy client is a trusted and market leading supplier and servicer of equipment and consumables in the fields of LCMS, GCMS, HPLC/GC systems as well as nitrogen and hydrogen generators & liquid handling technology .They are the largest independent company of their type in Europe, and they are an extremely entrepreneurial organisation where everyone’s opinion matters, everyone is valued and has the chance to make an impact!The requirements of the Service Manager:You will already have a minimum of 10+ year’s relevant field-service experience or prior service/laboratory management experienceIdeally you will already be a Service Manager/Team Leader and have responsibility for managing a team of field-based service engineersRelevant science or engineering qualification or significant accumulated field experienceIn-depth knowledge of one or more of the following product areas: HPLC/UPLC, GC, GCMS, LC, LCMS or related mass spectrometry ionisation techniques and analyser typesKnowledge of general business management including P&LFull, clean UK driving licenseValid passport with a minimum of 1-year remaining validityHave the right to reside and work in the United KingdomUnderstanding and achievement of the Company performance objectives in line with budgetary responsibilityNumerate and computer literateApplication of ideas and techniques from analytic number theoryHigh level of interpersonal skills, displaying leadership with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and clientsThe responsibilities of the Service Manager:Reporting to the Service Director, the Service Manager role is responsible for implementing and managing the business strategy across service support operations in the fieldDirectly manage a UK-wide team of Field Service Engineers of varying skill & experience levels to develop and coach the team to achieve the company performance targets on an individual basis, through 1-2-1’s & team level through weekly/monthly meetings.
