Position: Service Engineer

Salary: £45,000

Location: Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby, Telford, Leicester, Stoke, Derby

A Service Engineer is required for a leading technology manufacturer, focusing primarily on servicing, and maintaining complex equipment and instrumentation across the UK. This role is most suited to individuals with strong Communication skills that enjoy travelling to support installation/repairs/upgrades/PPM. This position offers opportunities to progress within the business.

The position of Service Engineer will consist of the following:

• To become familiar with all aspects of instrumentation and complex systems.
• The equipment is highly complex and with include electronics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, cryogenic fluids, and superconducting magnets
• Part of the installation and planned maintenance team on our customers sites.
• Attend customer site on short notice to analyse reported issues and perform repairs.
• Communicate accurately with customer and formally record agreements between Service and Engineer and Customer on paper or via e-mail.
• Assist customers remotely to identify nature of reported issues and resolve where possible, before conducting site visit
• Provide customers with training

The suitable candidate for Service Engineer will need to possess the following skills:

• Technical qualification in electrical and electronic engineering, or physics or a technical / scientific background
• Clean UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

The role will include car, bonus, medical and pension.
