As part of the recent BOB PPHS review a new and exciting position has become available to work as a senior women's health Physiotherapist with the women's health Physiotherapy service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital BHT. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering outpatient Physiotherapy to support, educate and empower women either at risk or with Pelvic/perineal issues either pre or post partum. We pride ourselves on integrated team working and strive for best clinical practice. The post holder will have the opportunity to enhance their specialist assessment and rehabilitation skills with support from band 7 Advanced Physiotherapist. We strongly encourage an evidenced based approach and support staff through supervision and appraisal. There is a strong emphasis on student education. Attendance at post graduate courses is also supported. Candidates will be expected to join and partake in emergency on call rota and weekend working rotas.Main duties of the jobTo provide a high standard physiotherapy service to the Women's Health Physiotherapy service, including within the sub-specialism of Physiotherapy for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. Performs an advanced musculoskeletal assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan and carries out this plan as an autonomous practitioner. Supervises, teaches and appraises recently qualified physiotherapists, physiotherapy students, support workers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Undertakes evidence based projects including recommendations for change in practice and may participate in departmental audit. Deputises for the physiotherapy team leaders in operational management. Will have acquired specialist knowledge in specific area i.e. musculoskeletal outpatients and physiotherapy for pelvic floor dysfunction.About usWhy colleagues think we are a great place to work! Current registration with Health Professions Council MCSP Membership Diploma /Degree in Physiotherapy Membership of professional special interest group Field work/clinical educators course Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio Specific formal courses appropriate to post speciality
ExperienceDesirable
Experience of at least 18 months in a junior rotational Physiotherapy post Previous experience in core physiotherapy specialties including acute in patient care, respiratory, Musculoskeletal and neurology Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields and demonstrates reflective learning Knowledge of areas of clinical governance including quality, audit and risk management Knowledge of areas of influence of psychosocial and cultural factors on health/illness behaviours Experience of managing own caseload and prioritizing Experience in supervision of students and junior staff Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team and contribute to decision making Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, and reflective practice Knowledge and application of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning Participation in audit and research and development activities Establish and maintain CPD Portfolio Experience of undertaking Senior (Band 6) role Demonstration of having initiated change of practice or process Experience of on-call and weekend working in an acute NHS Hospital
