We are looking for a Senior Water Scientist who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service.
This role will help to ensure that the water quality delivered to customers complies with relevant legislation, DWI guidance and industry best-practice through the management of their projects and their team. They will assist with water resource management planning and drought planning complies with DEFRAs requirements.
As the Senior Water Scientist your key responsibilities are
Oversee, coach and mentor a team to ensure they have the appropriate skills to meet the departments key objectives
Oversee and deliver regulatory reporting to strict deadlines which includes drinking water safely plans, compliance data, and event reporting
Manage team projects and investigatory work to ensure delivery against project plans and agreed timelines
Advise the business on water quality matters, including emergency incidents and investigatory work, when required
Take action to maintain public health by identifying risks and ensuring that the appropriate remedial measures are taken including liaison with external stakeholders
Deputise for the Water Compliance Manager as required
To join the water quality standby rota and provide water quality advice and support to the out of hours team
About you
Degree level in appropriate technical discipline
Full driving licence
Proven experience of coaching, training and mentoring a team
Experience within a relevant scientific field, with a strong understanding of water quality regulations, water quality science, water quality customer service and public health issues
Multi-tasker who can meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a customer focussed work environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle large amounts of diverse data
