Dave Cumber Vets requires a Senior Vet who can ensure animal welfare is the first consideration in seeking to provide the most appropriate attention for the animals in our care. This should be carried out using knowledge of animal physiology, nutrition, and medicine with your practical skills to diagnose illness, prescribe medicines, and perform imaging tests, laboratory tests and surgery. This should be carried out using knowledge of animal physiology, nutrition, and medicine with your practical skills to diagnose illness, prescribe medicines, and perform imaging tests, laboratory tests and surgery.Other Duties: ⦁ To contribute to the management, organisation, and financial performance of the practice by working with the Practice Director. ⦁ To provide support and guidance to colleagues as appropriate.⦁ Contribute to discussions and meetings on the management of the practice as required by the Clinical Director(s).⦁ Deputise for the Clinical Director(s) when the Clinical Director(s) are absent.⦁ When on duty provide leadership and guidance to less experienced vets, and support less experienced vets to develop in their role.⦁ Assume responsibility for surgical and medical cases at all times.⦁ Be fully responsible for the safety of the clients and staff within the practice when animals are being treated or handled.⦁ Understand and comply with your legal obligations in relation to the prescription, safekeeping and supply of Veterinary medicinal products.⦁ Continually supervise, train and educate the Veterinary Nurses.⦁ Treat all colleagues and clients with courtesy and respect.⦁ Ensure the security of the premises when leaving.⦁ Maintain personal CPD as per RCVS guidelines.Your work/life balance is our priority This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, over 4 days. The role would be primarily based in our Weymouth surgery but may also extend to our Dorchester branch practice. We have a well-equipped internal laboratory, two digital x-ray machines, 2 dental suites with x-ray facilities, endoscopy, laparoscopic surgical equipment, 2 ultrasound machines and 5 operating theatres.About the Team and CultureWe actively encourage development within the team and are keen to promote excellent service to our clients within first opinion practice. While no skill bias is required, due to the nature of our facilities and our team the ideal candidate should have a passion to provide a high level of care. Any applicant would be supported by the team to ensure they were comfortable and confident as they developed into the role. We have 5 vets, 15 Nurses, 9 Receptionists and the Practice Director, across 2 sites.Are You the Perfect Fit?
