A fantastic opportunity has arisen with an SME Consultancy after a sustained period of growth in Birmingham! This consultancy is looking to recruit a confident Senior Transport Planner to lead your very own small team on both Public & Private realm schemes.
This consultancy can offer you the chance to work on a truly diverse range of schemes including Travel Plans, Transport Assessments, Sustainable Transport Strategies, Modelling, Development Planning and much much more meaning no day in this role will be the same. To give you an idea of recent projects, they've been lead planning consultants on Leamington FC Football Club, they've worked on new residential developments such as the Old Police Station site in West London and they have worked on Severnside Energy Recovery Centre where they was involved in the detailed modelling of internal vehicles.
Whilst working on such a varied portfolio of projects as a Senior Transport Planner, you will be part of a team that is really close knit and are no stranger to social events and even got the chance to go on a trip to Bruges! They offer flexible working with you being able to work from home and the Birmingham office.
Senior Transport Planner Essential Requirements

  • Delivery of Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans
  • Delivery of feasibility studies
  • Delivery of transport scheme business cases
  • Delivery of the Value for Money assessments and economic appraisals
  • Undertaking active travel appraisals
  • Development of traffic models and analysis
  • Analyse, write and present results and reports
  • Attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders
  • Work as part of a team to develop solutions
  • Support the Transport Planning Team by taking leadership and responsibility for the delivery of its tasks and projects.
  • Continue to develop your professional skills as you progress your career.

Senior Transport Planner Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Geography, Planning or related subject (Masters' Degree in Transport Planning desirable)
  • Working towards or chartered with a relevant professional body
  • Delivery focussed
  • Ability to work independently and in the team
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills
  • Enthusiasm to be part of growing the business
  • Travel Flexibility
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary consulting environment
