Job DescriptionHelp shape the future project pipeline of a specialist international civil construction business which has big growth plans.We are seeking a Senior Tender Planner to lead across the tendering and work winning activity of an international civil construction contractor. They hold several multi decade relationships that will ensure a solid pipeline of projects across multiple sectors, including residential and public spaces, data centres, public infrastructure, defence, highways, rail, and utilities. Project values could be anywhere between 500k - 50M.They operate as both subcontractor and principal contractor. They employ 240 people, and this year's revenue is anticipated to be around £180M.As a Senior Tender Planner, you will work closely with the estimating and bid teams and be responsible for assessing tender documents and drawings, understanding what's required and devising a methodology, sequence, and programme, working from first principles. It is anticipated that you will work on around three tenders a week, supporting both the UK and European divisions.There is a clear progression path for you, along with opportunity for you to start building a tender planning team. Joining a smaller and value focused organisation means that your work will be seen, and your contribution recognised and rewarded.Your time would be split between offices in Kent and central London, along with opportunity for you to work from home. Their open plan head office in Kent has recently been refurbished and there are some great facilities on offer, including an in-house gym!Your key responsibilities will be:To provide winning work programme strategies for tender submissions, ensuring all risk and opportunities are assessedWork collaboratively with all team membersBuild a Tender Planning Team, including selection, mentoring and developmentEnsure an effective and professional planning and programming service is available for pre-contract and project teams, delivering consistencyLead programme meetings be they internally or presenting to a clientEnsure that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidanceEstablish and agree construction outputs, key methods of construction, sequencing, installation and commissioningProduce and document the planning deliverables including programmes, planning philosophy, presentations and reportsTo be successful in this role, it is likely that you:Hold a relevant degree qualification in engineering or construction, or hold extensive practical experienceHave a background in operational roles, for example as a Site Engineer or Site Agent, and have demonstrable experience of planning projectsIdeally have existing experience of tender planningHave good working knowledge of planning and scheduling systems such as Primavera P6, Asta and MS Project.The position offers a salary of between 75,000 - 85,000 per annum with a car allowance, private medical, enhanced contribution pension and an annual holiday entitlement of 24 days which increases with service.If you would like to know more then please drop us an email with a CV (doesn’t have to be up to date) or call us on 0203 998 7671
