Senior Technical Engineer

Our client is experiencing a period of growth and are looking for a Senior Technical Engineer to add to their growing engineering team.  They are looking for someone with 3 years experience in the industry to join their friendly team who design and deliver complex projects within the construction industry. They are based on the outskirts of Marlow and your role will be based onsite working Monday to Thursday 8am to 5:30pm and Friday 8am to 4:30pm.  The salary for this Senior Technical Engineer role is up to £36,000 dependant on experience.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage your own projects from tender to completion..


• Respond to technical queries from clients.


• Read technical drawings provided by architect, façade and structural engineers drawings, liaising directly with respective parties to develop and detail efficient solutions meeting the client’s requirements.


• Help to create and manage the company’s standard calculation spreadsheets.


• Play a vital role in supporting the technical director in developing and executing strategies that leverage technical capabilities to achieve organisational goals.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.


• Develop technical specification by preparing detailed technical submissions including all necessary drawings and calculations.


• As a member of the technical department, required to perform site visits to inspect installation of products.


• Retain and build client relationships through all work.


• Stay up to date with the latest advances in fixing systems and alternatives available on the market that are provided by competitors.


• Drive the preparation of the technical training modules to improve employee onboarding.


• Support the Technical Director in achieving the company strategies outlaid in the quarterly companywide meetings.


• Lead the technical team in the absence of the Technical Director.

Skills Required:

• BSc/BEng in Civil or Structural engineer


• Fantastic professional communication skills


• Experience in the design of steel and concrete in accordance with Eurocodes/British standards


• Exceptional attention to detail.


• Excellent project management skills


• Strong ability to problem solve


• Experience in AutoCAD 2D or similar drawing packages


• Good understanding of site construction techniques and building design principles
