The team spans the UK and is fully integrated with a global network of over 31,500 Arcadians delivering cutting-edge, innovative solutions to our client’s most significant challenges.For over 25 years, Arcadis has been on the forefront of regenerating the most contaminated sites in the UK into land fit for development, with multiple awards for the deployment of novel and innovative technologies alongside respected R&D, first-class development management and a range of best practice case studies. Our Regeneration clients expect us to consistently provide the clear, concise and pragmatic solutions needed to meet their challenges, challenges that arise from an increasingly constrained regulatory environment and that also have to take into account a wider scope of environmental and economic drivers.Our UK business has grown substantially in the past 3 years and the scope of our projects has diversified significantly as has the number of clients we actively support. This role has come about through growth and is required to harness the opportunity presented by the existing team’s experience and knowledge both locally and globally. This role will have a direct connection to our global community of practitioners responsible for sharing best practice.The Senior Technical Director will join our Solutions team in the UK SER business and take on responsibility for the winning, planning and oversight of works that address the increasing challenges faced by our Property & Regeneration clients.  This will include development advice, land asset transactions, site investigation, risk assessment, remediation design and implementation, demolition and waste management. The role will require strong client relationship building and management skills taking on existing accounts but also tasked with developing new accounts focused on delivering the end-to-end solutions required by the market. For clarity, “Property Sectors” includes a broad range of existing major clients in Local and National Government, Real Estate Development, Industry and Defence.The role is open to full-time and part-time candidates.Responsibilities:Drive the growth of the Property & Regeneration sectors portfolio of projects and clients.Client account support and leadership – lead on proposals and technical reviews.Be an outward face into the market to promote and maintain the position of Arcadis as a leader in regeneration, remediation, demolition management, geoscience and geo-environmental management in the UK and Globally.Drive the deployment of pragmatic technical solutions into the market, particularly where our new and novel sustainable technologies could be applied.Develop and support the delivery of research projects and thought leadership pieces – articles, technical bulletins, presentations.Qualifications & ExperienceBSc qualified in Real Estate Development, Planning, Regeneration, Civil Engineering Environmental Science or similar.Chartered with a relevant professional body (or equivalent).Driving licence.Leading experience of site regeneration, for example, economic, environmental, social and regulatory drivers, site assessment, remediation, land transactions, sourcing funding and business case preparation, securing planning permission and project delivery.Substantial commercial experience (bid writing, costing and risk mitigation) is essential.A thorough understanding of the practical, legal and commercial risks associated with site surveys, intrusive investigations and risk evaluation reporting.Experience of managing projects involving large delivery teams.A clear and demonstrable record of exemplar health and safety management.Significant experience in client and regulatory liaison.Motivation, enthusiasm and a desire to deliver exceptional outcomes.Excellent attention to detail and knowledge of good data management practice.Strong communication skills.Other Desirable QualitiesMSc or PhD in relevant subject.Academic and/or trade press publication history.Expert witness experience.Please note: while different genders browse jobs similarly, they apply to them differently.
