The Home
Abbeyfield Winnersh is a dementia-friendly residential care home situated in the village of Winnersh, Wokingham. The care home is designed to allow freedom of movement throughout, flowing from one area into another.
The Role of a Senior Team Leader (Head of Care):
Oversee the health and social care needs of around 20 residents, enabling quality of life through high quality service provision, outstanding person centred care, exceptional customer service and meaningful activity.
Provide effective leadership to the Care Team Leaders and Care Assistants in the unit so that they are capable, engaged and fully equipped to provide a personal and professional service to residents.
Implement and oversee a robust quality monitoring and audit process, ensuring compliance with CQC.
Ensure the completion of assessments, development of personalised care plans and reviews, to support our residents in all aspects of daily living, promoting independence and improving a sense of wellbeing.
Instil the principles of dignity and respect, safeguarding residents as the lead advocate for outstanding care and support at every stage.
Ensure outstanding care delivery, based on the assessment of care needs in consultation with residents, their relatives and the care team.
Ensure the correct and accurate administration and ordering of medication.
Develop networks and build relationships both internally and externally with relatives, volunteers, the local community and key stakeholders to promote and raise awareness of the service.
Responsible for the provision of support with the care team, in the delivery of outstanding care.
About You
Minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent or a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role at management or senior level within a registered service.
Strong working knowledge of the Heath and Social Care Act 2009 (regulated activities), CQC Registration Regulations 2009, Care Act 2014/#####.
Ability to undertake day to day running of the home under the direction of the Deputy Manager and Home Manager.
Be prepared to complete assessments during flexible hours, if necessary - day and night, to meet the safe needs of the business
Passionate about delivering high quality care for older people.
Good with information technology; you’ll need to use IT systems, e mail and text.
Strong influencing and professional relationship building skills; ability to facilitate meetings or support groups.
Strong people leadership and management skills, able to get the best out of teams.
Experience in managing staffing budgets.
