Senior Tax ManagerDepartment: TaxEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: London, Leeds, Worthing or Exeter, UK DescriptionThe Progeny taxation team is growing to support our thriving financial planning business, both in the UK and overseas. As Senior Tax Manager you will work closely with the heads of taxes, on a broad range of income tax, IHT and CGT projects and compliance work, often involving residence and remittance basis queries for a range of UK expat clients.The role will be split between compliance, where you will manage your own allocated client base, and advisory. You will utilise your strong personal tax technical knowledge, excellent communication, and management skills to help drive the growth and vision of the tax team. In this client facing role, you will have an opportunity to support colleagues in their early careers, as well as assist in client advisory with the financial planners. Location: We are flexible on location and therefore, this role could be based in one of our UK offices in Leeds, London, Worthing, or Exeter. We operate hybrid working enabling home and office working. This role is full-time, but we are happy to talk about flexible working.Key Responsibilities
Identifying potential issues from information provided by clients, competently addressing issues and discussing appropriate solutions.
Applying and utilising deep technical knowledge, using all resources (including legislation) to solve technical queries and provide technical support to team members.
Motivating and developing the team, creating a positive, productive environment where team members are enthused to learn and progress their CPD.
Applying sound understanding of the business needs including costs of staff, wips and billing targets and proactively managing targets at an individual and junior level.
Identifying opportunities for tax planning and cross-selling across the practice.
Successfully engaging new clients from prospects.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
CTA qualified (with substantial experience post-CTA)
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent Microsoft Word and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with Microsoft Teams/Video Calls.
Proven experience in forming and maintaining client relationships.
Excellent analytical and time management skills with attention to detail.
