This is a busy and varied role providing support to the local and national Engineering teams on a wide range of projects, including structural surveys and structural designs for residential, commercial and industrial properties as well as providing advice to the insurance sector and assisting with our regional frameworks. We have ambitious plans to expand over the next few years and are looking for people who share the same vision. This position provides a perfect opportunity for the successful candidate to show their ambition, drive and passion for customer service, as well as delivering our values, a professional manner and good interpersonal communication skills are essential. The post is a full time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary and company pension scheme.The Structural Engineer is expected to support the Engineering Line Manager and is responsible for handling projects within own level of authority and providing training and guidance to supporting team members.Responsibilities:Undertaking of technical and feasibility studies including organising site investigationsTo use a range of software to develop detailed structural designs as well as hand calculationsLiaise with clients and a variety of professionals including contractors and architectsPreparation of structural reports, calculations and drawingsProvide technical advice to clientsMonitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractorsResolving design and development problemsManagement of budget and project resourcesEnsuring that all projects comply with legal requirements including CDM2015, Party wall, Listed buildingsAssessment of sustainability and environmental impact of projectsUndertake large value projects independently with sound knowledge on all aspects of professional consultancy servicesTo play an active part in promoting the company’s services to secure projects.Assisting director with training and development of the engineering teamTo provide supervision and support to Graduates and Engineers to promote knowledge and understandingAt all times to comply with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulationsQualificationsCivil & Structural Engineering BEng, MEng, MScFull driving licenceExperienceExperience and extensive working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures supported by an awareness of the latest statutory requirements, technical publications and guidelines.Experience in supervisory and leadership rolesExperience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projectsQualities and SkillsSound mathematical, scientific and IT skillsThe ability to think methodically and to manage projects Problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of relevant legislationSeniority levelSeniority level Mid-Senior level Employment typeEmployment type Full-time Job functionReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at PACC by 2xGet notified about new
