Job DescriptionSuperb opportunity for a Senior Engineer in Leeds to join a highly successful, reputable, and growing organisation where your commitment and achievements will be appreciated and rewarded.Operating across multiple branches in the UK, Crouch Waterfall is a forward thinking Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy working on buildings, railway infrastructure, temporary works, bridges and geotechnics. Established since 1981, the business has enjoyed steady growth driven by a committed and highly skilled workforce of 100 employees.The RoleYou’ll join the close-knit team within the welcoming and relaxed Leeds office, and work with other offices across different projects.Reporting to the Company Director and Associate as a Technical and Project Lead, you will lead and inspire a team of Engineers and Technicians across wide variety of projects, from small value projects up to £20m in construction value. The position requires a candidate who is keen to diversify and encompass the scope of our project tasks which covers commercial structures, public sector structures, rail, domestic and temporary works design amongst others.The role would suit someone with a background in structural design and the ability to understand the requirement for permanent and temporary works design to support our engineering teams and main contractors with solving their construction difficulties. The candidate should have experience in the use of all structural materials.Your duties will include, although not be limited to:Taking ownership of own projects and clientsCarrying out inspections, site surveys and assessments of structures and preparing reportsReviewing the design of civil & structural schemes and checking designs prepared by others, including detailed calculations by hand and through computer modelsManaging resourcing of junior Engineers and Technicians for your projects within the team including mentoring, coaching and trainingAdvising junior staff on solutions and supporting other team members on developing solutionsPreparation of tenders and fee proposalsPreparing and managing project programmes, workload and resources along with the directorsLiaising with clients to verify project scope and ensure deliverablesDeveloping new and existing client relationships through successful project workingWhat will I receive in return?26 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off, with option to purchase up to 5 additional days holiday per yearCompany performance-related bonus schemeMatched pension scheme of up to 5%Private Healthcare Schemes / Cycle to Work SchemeRelaxed and comfortable working environmentYou’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 40 hours per week. There is flexibility with start and finish times available however, the core working hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm.To be considered for this role you will have the following experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge and attributes;Relevant Civil or Structural Engineering degreeWorking towards Chartership (ICE or IStructE)Strong technical knowledge within assessment and design including inspections, calculations and analysis of existing structures and new-build design developmentConsiderable project management experience across buildings, bridges and temporary works, with drive and a proven record to meeting targetsExperience within the UK industry; preferably with Eurocode and Highway standardsExperience leading and developing a team of EngineersClient focused approach with effective interpersonal and communication skillsStrong commercial awarenessUK driving licence and own transportIndependent right to live and work in the UK*salary depending on experience*
