Position Overview
As a Senior Structural Engineer within our Fleet and Equipment team based in Aberdeen, you will be responsible for providing specialist technical support to our global fleet operations. Collaborating with other engineering specialists, you will develop innovative structural engineering solutions to support various projects across our fleet, contributing to the success and reliability of our operations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in structural engineering, adhering to design codes, legislative requirements, and engineering best practices.
Produce and check design documentation, including reports, calculations, specifications, and procedures.
Conduct in-place design, transportation, lifting analysis, and seafastening design using relevant software packages.
Ensure designs comply with industry codes, standards, client specifications, and scopes of work.
Support package engineering and management for structural material procurement.
Coordinate structural engineering support for multi-discipline projects, adhering to defined budgets and schedules.
Liaise with related disciplines to understand project interfaces and requirements.
Provide occasional offshore or site support as needed.
Actively participate in relevant training and pursue continuing professional development.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture. Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, MathCAD, STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS, or similar. Chartered Engineer status or working towards it. Extensive engineering experience in structural design within the Marine and Oil and Gas industry. Familiarity with marine classification and local legislation. Strong understanding of industry codes, standards, and design guidelines. Ability to support package engineering and management. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and mentor junior engineers.
