This role offers a great growth opportunity as you seek to drive a vast array of exciting projects to deliver this growth. You will be able to lead people and projects across commodity areas (mechanical, electrical, OEM etc.) and take ownership of a team of Commodity Engineers and Commodity Specialists at mid to senior career level.The role involves developing and implementing strategic procurement operations, ensuring that the supply chain is set up at the right quality level, with optimised capacity, has capability aligned with New Product Introduction and is underpinned by good cost control. You will also be confident in shaping and sizing your successful team to deliver positive outcomes for KLA.In this role you will establish friendly, professional, and positive relationships with suppliers, colleagues and leaders involved in material delivery. Much of your work will be on a global basis and be a strong negotiator with the ability to influence decision making at executive level with clients and at KLA.The right person will have the ambition to succeed in role, growing the department both in size and remit, and progress within the company. With an understanding of the requirements of sophisticated mechanical and electrical assembly supply you'll shape our supply chain to meet the demands of rapid R&D development, volume production and newly in-sourced products.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.Initiate, develop and lead new supplier relationships to develop supply chain capacity and capability and draft initial supplier contracts before handover of accountsOversee the first article procurement process, from identifying potential suppliers to leading the initial part delivery and production ramp. Involvement in the Product Life-cycle creating strategic purchasing plans for new products that consider quality, lead-time, volume, specialist capability and cost.Collaborate closely with the operational purchasing function to understand their procurement needs and provide solutions.Drive part cost down annually, without compromising quality or delivery, to grow Gross Margin.Monitor market trends and perform analysis to make informed procurement decisions and ensure adverse cost variance is mitigated due to changes in the macro-economic and political landscape.Ensure supply chain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related experience. MBA or equivalent would be helpful.Ideally qualified to CIPS Level 5 or above, MCIPSProven experience in a Senior strategic procurement role with management of people in a technical engineering contextEvidence of strong negotiation and decision-making skills.Excellent understanding of procurement processes and market dynamics.We offer a competitive, family friendly total rewards package.
