The role
Youll act as Lead Engineer on large scale software initiatives within MAG and expand existing or drive new software to meet the changing needs of MAG whilst staying true to our companys core values and needs. Youll focus on creating fault-tolerant programming strategies using various DevOps tools for build, test and deploy. Youll create scalable, automated solutions for Airport systems and Guest Experience using elastic based container solutions or RPA (robotic process automation) for example, as well as contribute to PoCs related to component technology. Youll act as a mentor/coach to less experienced team members.
What will make you successful in the role?
Youll have significant experience of software development in various languages such as NodeJS TypeScript, C# etc. Youll have excellent attention to detail, technology awareness and exposure to different systems integration technologies for example RESTFul, Message Queuing (specifically Kafka and RabbitMQ), Web Hooks etc. Youll have Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server experience as well as source control capabilities and processes, and have experience of building cloud based services in AWS. Excellent team working and team leader skills are also essential. The following skills are desirable and will be an advantage
Degree or equivalent education in Software Engineering or Information Technology or relevant subject
Experience documenting in tools such as Swagger
Experienced in agile delivery techniques and using agile tools such as Confluence and JIRA
Experienced in continuous integration/delivery methodologies
Operational and visualisation tooling such as Elastic
Experience in Front End development
