We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help us develop and maintain our cutting-edge game technologies and systems.
As a Senior Software Engineer at World Makers, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems that power our online games. You will work closely with our game development team to ensure that our online games both meet their design specifications, and are stable, scalable, and secure. RESPONSIBILITIESDrive new technical features through the full development process from ideation to releaseWork closely with other team members to prototype and iterate on features and systemsContribute to technical architecture discussionsContribute and provide feedback on the direction of both gameplay and technical decision makingDebug, profile, and optimise code to ensure performance on a variety of hardwareHelp establish and maintain engineering best practices throughout all projectsWrite clear and concise technical documentation and communicate effectively with other team membersMentor and guide junior engineers on the team to ensure that our work meets the highest standardsStay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in game development and infrastructure engineering, and proactively identify new opportunities for growth and improvementREQUIREMENTS5+ years experience in software developmentStrong skills in C++ and a variety of programming languagesExperience in contributing to large, complex codebasesSolid understanding of mathematical principles relevant to game developmentAbility to take proactive action and use initiativeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBONUS SKILLSBachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related fieldExperience in working in Game Engines such as Unreal EnginePreviously worked on networked multiplayer gamesA strong knowledge of distributed systemsExperience with console developmentExperience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud)
